Story So Far
From a Minnesota game shed to the far side of the System.
The Fort Falls Through
A cult on Gaia opened a route to Earth and began changing it into a fantasy world. The party and their friend Dan were caught at one of the first portals and transported—along with the wreckage of the shed where they played games—into a collapsing dungeon on Gaia. Crystals recovered there granted them their first classes and powers.
Escape and Apprenticeship
Cult support staff captured the newcomers together with Gary, Iria, and their adventuring party. Fredrick helped everyone escape. The party chose to learn Gaia's rules under those adventurers and joined the Adventurer's Guild, while Dan entered the Mage's Society to investigate the new world by another route.
Dan Goes Missing
Dan vanished while the party was away closing a dungeon. Their investigation exposed cult influence inside the Mage's Society and led to a raid on a hidden lair. There they found evidence that Dan had been tortured and killed for information about Earth. Aziz, a kobold wizard, later determined that a powerful extraplanar presence had resurrected him.
The Golden Loon Society
The search continued in the capital, where the party joined Gary's clan, the Golden Loon Society. A lead finally brought them face to face with Dan. During his death he had seen a vision of Earth's future and returned convinced that sacrificing Gaia was the only way to buy Earth enough time to survive its transformation.
Across the Misaddressed Road
Dan escaped through a rift and the party followed him to Valeria, a desert world ruined by rulers who consumed its magic for themselves. Along the way the party witnessed part of Dan's vision: worlds being overtaken by the System, the Great Game among Arcane, Martial, Divine, and Primal, and hints that other cosmic powers exist beyond those four.
The Siphon Wakes
In Valeria, Dan altered the route back to Gaia so it began draining Gaia's energy into the dead world. The party repaired the link and confronted him. Dan explained that Earth's danger is not only the cult: if fantasy rules overwrite physics too quickly, modern infrastructure and global supply chains could fail catastrophically.
An Uneasy Common Cause
Dan still intends to stop Arcane reinforcements and prepare the party to defeat the cult agents already on Earth. The party now understands the emergency, but refuses to accept Gaia's destruction as the price. They may work with Dan while searching for a third plan—one that can preserve both worlds before his clock runs out.
